Privacy Policy
TryPoint has a comprehensive privacy policy that covers how shopper data is collected, used, stored, and protected. This article summarizes the key points relevant to merchants.
What data TryPoint collects
From shoppers:
- Uploaded photos (used to generate try-on previews)
- Email addresses (if email capture is enabled)
- Try-on results (the generated images)
- Feedback responses
- Usage rights consent (if enabled)
From merchants:
- Shopify store data (product catalog, store URL)
- Account information
How data is used
Shopper photos are used solely to generate the try-on preview. Photos are processed on secure cloud infrastructure and are not shared with third parties unless the shopper explicitly grants usage rights.
Email addresses collected through the try-on flow are provided to you (the merchant) for your email marketing. TryPoint does not use shopper email addresses for its own marketing.
Try-on images where shoppers have granted usage rights are made available in your admin gallery for your marketing use.
Data retention
- Original uploaded photos: Deleted within 24 hours
- Generated try-on images: Deleted after 90 days, or until you delete them
- UGC-consented images: Retained until consent is withdrawn
- Consent records: Duration of processing + 5 years
Your obligations
As a merchant using TryPoint, you should:
- Update your store's privacy policy to mention the use of virtual try-on technology.
- Inform shoppers about what data is collected and how it is used.
- Honor data deletion requests from shoppers in accordance with applicable regulations. See Handling Shopper Data Requests for the workflow.
