Setting Up the Try-On Button

Setting Up the Try-On Button

The try-on button is how shoppers access the TryPoint experience. This guide covers where to place it, how to control which pages show it, and how to make it visible.

Where the button appears

The try-on button sits on your product pages, typically near the product images or the add-to-cart section. When a shopper clicks it, the try-on flow opens and they can upload a photo to see the product on themselves.

Choosing which pages show the button

You can control which product pages display the try-on button:

  1. Open the TryPoint app in your Shopify admin.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Under Product Pages, select which product types or specific products should show the try-on button.

This is useful if you sell a mix of categories. For example, you might enable try-on for dresses and swimwear but not for accessories or bags where virtual try-on is less relevant.

Placing the button in your theme

You control the exact position of the button through your Shopify theme editor:

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  2. Open a product page template.
  3. Find the TryPoint app block in your layout.
  4. Drag it to your preferred position on the page.
  5. Click Save.

Common placements:

  • Below the product images, where it draws attention early in the browsing flow.
  • Next to the add-to-cart button, creating a natural call-to-action sequence.
  • Above the product description, for a front-and-center approach.

Testing the button

Before promoting the feature, test it yourself:

  1. Visit a product page on your live store.
  2. Click the try-on button.
  3. Upload a photo and try on the product.
  4. Verify the experience loads smoothly and results look accurate.

If anything feels off, adjust the placement or styling before directing shoppers to the feature.
